Minutes Cable TV Regulatory 3 8 06 MINUTES OF CABLE TV REGULATORY COMMISSION MEETING March, 8, 2006 CITY HALL ANNEX CONFERENCE ROOM #2 MEMBERS PRESENT: Charles Ellis, Chairman, Ron Tigges, Walt Webster MEMBERS ABSENT: Michael Pratt. One seat remains vacant on the Commission. OTHERS PRESENT: Craig Nowack, City of Dubuque Cable TV Coordinator Mr. Ellis called the meeting to order at 5:32 p.m. 1. Acceptance of the Agenda. Upon a motion by Mr. Webster, seconded by Mr. Tigges, the agenda was approved unanimously as distributed. 2. Approval of the Minutes of the February 8, 2006 Meeting. Upon a motion by Mr. Webster, seconded by Mr. Tigges, the Minutes of the Feb. 8, 2006 meeting were approved unanimously as distributed. 3. Public Comment. There was no one present to address the commission. 4. Status of Telecom Projects in Dubuque. There was no discussion on this topic. 5. New Franchise. Mr. Nowack reported that the City and Mediacom have had some discussions with regards to possibly extending some of the deadlines in the franchise agreement that relate to building the I-Net. Because the City may want to modify the I-Net site list, Mediacom has asked for a 60-day extension on the deadline to have the 12 core/ring sites completed. He stressed that the year-end deadline for the entire 1- Net to be completed is not subject to change, and that extending the core/ring deadline will cause no harm. Mr. Ellis stressed that any modifications to the franchise must go through City Council. 6. Mediacom General Manager's Report. No one from Mediacom was present to report. 7. Staff Report 1 Mr. Nowack reported that visits to determine the exact demarcation points and methods of termination for the 12 core/ring I-Net sites began today. He also reported that the City just recently hired a Project Manager who will act as I-Net Construction Coordinator. 8. Future Agenda Items The Commission agreed to keep its current agenda items. 9. Adjournment. Upon a motion by Mr. Tigges, seconded by Mr. Webster, the meeting was adjourned at 5:49 p.m. 2
