Minutes_Library Board of Trustees 2 11 13Carnegie -Stout Public Library ORJGJNAL Board of Trustees Special Meeting Minutes of February 11, 2013 The Board of Trustees of the Carnegie -Stout Public Library (C -SPL) met in the Lacy Board Room at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, February 11, 2013. Present: Present Via Conference Call: Board Secretary Frederick Miller; Trustee David Hammer (entered at 3:03 p.m.); Library Director Susan Henricks; Recorder Denette Kellogg, and Secretary Jennifer Long President Paula Connors; Vice President Mike Willis; Trustee John Anderson - Bricker; Trustee Diann Guns; Trustee Jenny Weiss 1. President Paula Connors called the meeting to order at 3:00 p.m. and the agenda was adopted. "Moved to adopt the meeting agenda of Monday, February 11, 2013." Motion: Miller Second: Anderson - Bricker Vote: Aye — 6; Nay — 0 Trustee David Hammer entered the meeting at 3:04 p.m. 2. Action Item - Tricon Construction Group (Tricon) Mediation Results: Connors presented an email from City Engineer, Steve Brown, containing a draft of the settlement agreement with Tricon. The email stated that currently the City is holding retainage due to Tricon of $64,713.77 and City Engineering and City Legal agreed to Tricon's delay claim of $10,000.00 for a total due Tricon of $74,713.77. The parties agreed to subtract from that a payment to the City for the elm veneer of $17,000.00 and payment to the City for other minor items of $3,000.00, leaving a payment due Tricon of $54,713.77. Connors then opened the floor to questions. Willis asked Connors to explain the delay claim. Connors stated that Tricon claimed the Library owed them more money because the project took longer than anticipated. The Board concurred with the mediation results. 1 "Moved to recommend the Library Board's agreement with the mediation results to the City Council." Motion: Guns Second: Willis Vote: Aye — 7; Nay — 0 3 Communications /Public Comment: Guns asked when the sculpture in front of the library was repainted. Henricks stated that the sculpture's artist, Gail Chavenelle, was inspecting the sculpture and noticed that the blue paint was rubbing off and it was repainted. 4.
