Milligen provided infor-
mation amending the
Water Department and
Transit Division bud-
gets. The City Council
had discussion follow-
ing each presentation.
Following the Public
Works; presentation,
Paula rt,
Dill St. Ma Jim ensBrow210 n,
and on Danielle and Galin
Abbott s, 244 Dillon St.
addressed the City
Council regarding the
long- standing poor
condition of the alley
that runs behind their
properties between
State Street and the
lack of a city alley
maintenance program
as well as issues with
garage access. The
City Manager and Mr.
Vogt provided histor-
ical and current
information on alley
maintenance and
street maintenance
program stating that
the steep grade of this
alley poses special
maintenance issues
and is not eligible for
or suited to permeable
pavers adding that a
complete reconstruc-
tion would be 100
percent assessable to
property owners.
Following the Transit-
Division Budget, Bus
Driver Doug Brehm
questioned why the
City was not using the
current Civil Service
Commission certified
list for hiring the
proposed full -time bus
drivers. Mr. Van
Milligen explained that
the positions are
proposed to be filled
June 1, 2013 at the
earliest, the current list
will expire and <a new
Civil Service exam will
be given.
There being no
further business, upon
motion the City Council
adjourned 9:24 p.m.
