Proclamation_Dress Blue for MS Day (May 3, 2013) PROCLAMATION WHEREASthe Multiple Sclerosis Society was formed to help patients with MS function , to the best of their abilities with information, devices and fundraising initiatives to help ensure quality of life for US citizens; and WHEREAS, the Multiple Sclerosis Society has recognized Ms. Barbara Robbins as the Dubuque Community Ambassador for MS; and WHEREASthe men and women touched by MS and the MS Society would like to have , a formal way to raise funds on behalf of our local residents, to help our fellow neighbors keep their jobs and continue to support our local economy as contributing citizens; and WHEREAS, Ms. Robbins is establishing Dress Blue for MS Day, which encourages all citizens to wear blue jeans to work on May 3rd and contribute a $5 to an employer representative, who will collect the money and deposit it with American Trust Savings Bank’s MS account. Donations will then be partnered with the funds raised by the local 2013 Walk for MS. Direct donations to American Trust are also welcome. NOW THEREFORE, I, ROY D. BUOL, MAYOR OF THE CITY OF DUBUQUE, IOWA, ON BEHALF OF THE CITY COUNCIL, STAFF AND CITIZENS OF DUBUQUE, DO HEREBY rd PROCLAIM FRIDAY, MAY 3, 2013 AS “DRESS BLUE FOR MS DAY” IN THE CITY OF DUBUQUE, IOWA, AND CALL UPON THE PEOPLE OF THE DUBUQUE AREA TO SUPPORT THIS EVENT.
