MOTION PASSED 3-0. CASE #2 Ted Stackis, owner of 479 Kaufmann Ave, is requesting a variance on room size. The room is 58 sq ft. This is a S8 Initial inspection. ED SWIFT MOTIONED TO DENY THE VARIANCE ON BEDROOM SIZE. SANDRA MOORE SECONDED. MOTION PASSED 3-0. CASE #3 Paul Wheelock, owner of 1876 Washington St, is requesting a variance on ceiling height. The ceilings are 6'3". This is a Rehab inspection ED SWIFT MOTIONED TO GRANT THE VARIANCE ON CEILING HEIGHT DUE TO PRACTICAL DIFFICULTIES AND UNNECESSARY HARDSHIPS IN CARRYING OUT THE STRICT LETTER OF THE CODE. SANDRA MOORE SECONDED. MOTION PASSED 3-0. . Staff presented a draft memorandum describing proposed new policies for licensing and inspecting vacant and abandoned buildings. Owners would be required to either state the time their building is expected to remain vacant or to submit a plan and timetable to comply with applicable City codes. SANDRA MOORE MOTIONED TO APPROVE THE PROPOSED POLICIES FOR VACANT AND ABANDONED BUILDINGS. ED SWIFT SECONDED. MOTION PASSED 3-D.
