This is a claim in which the claimant alleges that three of her refuse cans were discarded
by City of Dubuque refuse crew members.
According to the report of Paul Schultz, Solid Waste Management Supervisor, the
referenced refuse containers were taken and disposed of on June 6, 2006. Mr. Schultz
states that although the containers were in suitable condition for continued use, the
crew members disposed of the containers because there was a note attached to them
telling the crew to "take" the containers. The customer apparently attached the note
because excessive refuse had gone uncollected during previous weeks because the
containers were not tagged with the necessary green garbage stickers. It was later
discovered that the claimant desired for the crew to "empty" the containers.
It is therefore the recommendation of Paul Schultz to approve this claim as filed for
$36.00. The Legal Department concurs with this recommendation.
