Van Milligen, City Manager FROM: Jacqueline Rodriguez, Water Plant Manager Dubuque * * * ** AD- America City 11111 2012 SUBJECT: Notice to Proceed and Change Order No. 1 for the Asbury Tank Reconditioning Project CIP #740 -2204, Fund Balance - $592,826 DATE: April 15, 2013 The purpose of this memorandum is to request your signatures to approve the Notice to Proceed and to approve Change Order No. 1 for the Asbury Tank Reconditioning Project. Change Order No. 1 was incorporated into a previous memo to award the construction contract to Classic Protective Coatings dated February 12, 2013. The cost of this change order was accounted for under the contingencies heading listed at $81,457.50. Of this amount, $49,800 was set aside for the HydroFlon coating and the rest for other expenses. The change order calls for the use of Tnemec HydroFlon finish coat which will extend the life of the coating system by an additional five years. Nick Wagner from MSA has stated that the HydroFlon coating system is the standard recommended for all newly constructed tanks. Please return these contracts to me when signed.
