Reconditioning Project CIP #740 -2204, Fund Balance - $592,826

The purpose of this memorandum is to request your signatures to approve the Notice to
Proceed and to approve Change Order No. 1 for the Asbury Tank Reconditioning
Project.
Change Order No. 1 was incorporated into a previous memo to award the construction
contract to Classic Protective Coatings dated February 12, 2013. The cost of this
change order was accounted for under the contingencies heading listed at $81,457.50.
Of this amount, $49,800 was set aside for the HydroFlon coating and the rest for other
expenses. The change order calls for the use of Tnemec HydroFlon finish coat which
will extend the life of the coating system by an additional five years.
Nick Wagner from MSA has stated that the HydroFlon coating system is the standard
recommended for all newly constructed tanks.

You are notified that the Contract Times under the above Contract will commence to run on April 15, 2013. On or
before that date, you are to start performing your obligations under the Contract Documents. In accordance with Article 4
of the Agreement, the date of Substantial Completion is June 3, 2013, and the date of readiness for final payment is July 1,
2013.
Before you may start any Work at the Site, Paragraph 2.01.B of the General Conditions provides that you and
Owner must each deliver to the other (with copies to Engineer and other identified additional insureds and loss payees)
certificates of insurance which each is required to purchase and maintain in accordance with the Contract Documents.

The Contractor shall proceed with installing the exterior coating system as specified in Proposal 2.0. The exterior coating

shall be increased by $49,800.00 to accommodate this work.
