WHEREAS, on May 30, 1913, the Dubuque Board of Realtors® was accepted as a member of
the National Association of Real Estate Exchanges now the National Association
Of Realtors®. From its humble beginnings of just a handful of members has
grown to more than two hundred twenty -five (225) members; and
WHEREAS, the purpose of the Dubuque Board of Realtors® is to promote and maintain high
standards of conduct and ethical business practices in the real estate profession
as expressed in the "Code of Ethics" of the National Association of Realtors; and
WHEREAS, the Dubuque Board of Realtors® Educates the public about the right to equal
housing opportunities and engages in community outreach by donating time and
funds to community endeavors; and
WHEREAS, the Dubuque Board of Realtors® has worked to improve the neighborhoods,
business communities, and real estate markets in the City of Dubuque and
surrounding areas; and
WHEREAS, homeownership provides a sense of security for Dubuque -area families and their
children and results in better education, more secure neighborhoods, and a better
quality of life for our children; and
WHEREAS, the members of the Dubuque Board of Realtors® continue to do excellent work by
"fulfilling dreams...one home at a time."
NOW THEREFORE, 1, ROY D. BUOL, MAYOR OF THE CITY OF DUBUQUE, IOWA, ON BEHALF
OF THE CITY COUNCIL, STAFF AND CITIZENS OF DUBUQUE, DO HEREBY CONGRATULATE
AND RECOGNIZE THE DUBUQUE BOARD OF REALTORS® ON ITS 100TH ANNIVERSARY FOR A
STELLAR RECORD OF SUPPORT, SERVICE, AND COMMITMENT TO THE DUBUQUE -AREA
COMMUNITY AND MEMBERS.
