Van Milligen, City Manager pp FROM: Randy Peck, Personnel Manager SUBJECT: Amendment to the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the City of Dubuque and the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local #234 DATE: May 8, 2013 Water Meter Inspector Terry Roussel will be off of work for an undetermined period of time. Finance Director Ken TeKippe has asked if part time Water Meter Serviceworker I Jeff Mills could work additional hours. In order for Jeff to work additional hours, we will need to amend the collective bargaining agreement with the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local #234. I have attached an amendment to the collective bargaining agreement that will permit part time Water Meter Serviceworker I Jeff Mills to work 1,664 or more hours in calendar year 2013 and remain a part time employee and continue to receive the benefits that are provided to part time employees. The requested action is for the City Council to approve a motion authorizing you to sign the amendment. RP:tlb Attachment Cc: Ken TeKippe, Finance Director Rose Hoerner, AMENDMENT TO THE COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE INTERNATIONAL UNION OF OPERATING ENGINEERS, LOCAL #234 AND THE CITY OF DUBUQUE, IOWA The parties hereby agree to amend Article XXXVII, Part Time Employees, of the Collective Bargaining Agreement dated July 1, 2011 to June 30, 2014, as follows: In Calendar Year 2013, part time Water Meter Serviceworker I Jeff Mills may work in excess of the annual hours limit of 1664 hours and shall remain a part time employee. Part time Water Meter Serviceworker 1 Jeff Mills shall be entitled only to the rate of pay set forth in Article XXXVX, Wage Plan. Part time Water Meter Serviceworker 1 Jeff Mills shall not accrue or receive any other benefits, pay or privileges granted by the, collective bargaining agreement or be subject to any other provisions of the agreement .
