To achieve our goal this initiative must be included as part of the Illinois DOT and Iowa DOT Comprehensive Capitol Rail Transportation Plans for the benefit of both Illinois and Iowa. In addition. BARC will provide the framework to facilitate the coordination of the various rail strategies for the Blackhawk region. This framework will serve as the basis for BARe's inclusion in a Statewide Multi- modal Transportation Plan. To accomplish these goals, BARC will coordinate a grassroots effort with the help and support of area businesses and individuals, tourists, as well as our state and federal legislators. We endorse the BARC request for immediate funding of a feasibility study to be performed by the Illinois and Iowa DOT's of the proposed route. We agree with the BARC stipulation that this initiative be included as part of the Illinois DOT and Iowa DOT Comprehensive Capitol Rail Transportation Plans for the benefit of both Illinois and Iowa. We support the BARC request that the upcoming Comprehensive Transportation Capitol Plans by Illinois and Iowa include the framework to facilitate the coordination of the various rail strategies for the Blackhawk region.
