BUDGET PREPARED BY THE CITY MANAGER OF THE CITY OF DUBUQUE, IOWA, FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1946-1947. Notice is hereby given that the City Manager of the City of Dubuque has prepared a budget on the basis of estimates of the expenses of the various de- partments of said City for the fiscal year beginning April 1. 1946 and ending March 31, 1947. Such depart- mental estimates show expenses of each department for the preceding year, and the purpose for which the consolidated tax levy, authorized by Section 6217 of the Code of Iowa 1939, as amended, is to be used, and in addition thereto, the purpose for which all other tax levies are to be used, including the revenues from mis- cellaneous sources. The levy of 11 consolidated tax has heretofore been determtned by said Council and incor- porated in a resolution for ~uch purpose. The budget will be considered for final adoption by the city Council at a special meetin~ to be held in the Council Chamber at the City Hall on the 6th day of August, 1945. at 7:30 o'clock P. M. Any interested party objecting thereto or ITotesting to the same, or to any item thereof or any omission therefrom, shall present his objections to said Council on or before that date. Thei- sen addressed the meeting of the Board of Health and discussed the sUbject of Infantile Paralysis and stating that this disease is most prevalent during the fly season and suggesting preventive measures to be adopted and enforced in carry- ing on a campaign for the elimina- tion and extermination of the filthy conditions that are conducive to the spread of Infantile Paralysis and other dread diseases.
