We the residents of the North End of the City of Dubuque have a grievance which has been brought to
the attention of various City officials and has gone unaddressed.
The property formerly occupied by Thermoline, which is now vacant and for sale by Platinum Realty is
sorely neglected. The grass and weeds have not been mowed since Thermoline vacated the property.
This issue was brought to the attention of various City officials numerous times throughout 2012 and the
issue was not resolved. Again in 2013, we have raised the issue and still nothing has been done.
Allowing these weeds and grass to go unattended not only attracts pests such as raccoons, skunks, fox,
and various other animals, it is also a potential fire hazard which would affect a minimum of 15 homes
and several businesses.
Additionally, we believe that if the residents of this neighborhood allowed our lawns to go unattended,
City officials would, justifiably, mow our lawns and bill us for having done so.
The grass and weeds are not only an eyesore, they are a nuisance and we demand the issue be resolved
immediately.
