Van Milligen, City Manager SUBJECT: Amendment to the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the City of Dubuque and the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local #758 Personnel Manager Randy Peck recommends City Council approval of an Amendment to the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the City of Dubuque and the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local #758 that would provide for a work week that consists of ten hours per day and four days per week for full-time Public Safety Dispatchers. The Amendment would be in effect from October 1, 2006 through September 30,2007. I concur with the recommendation and respectfully request Mayor and City Council approval. Van Milligen City Manager Randy Peck 61Y Personnel Manager SUBJECT: Amendment to the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the City of Dubuque and the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local #758 For several years we have amended Article XXVIII, Hours of Work and Article XXX, Overtime Pay to provide for a work week that consists of ten hours per day and four days per week for Full-time Public Safety Dispatchers. The amendments have been for a one year period. The current amendment will expire on September 30, 2006. I have prepared a new amendment that would become effective on October 1, 2006 and continue through September 30, 2007. The requested action is for the City Council to approve a motion authorizing you to sign the amendment. If you have any questions, please feel free to call. RP:bf I . AMENDMENT TO THE COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE INTERNATIONAL UNION OF OPERATING ENGINEERS LOCAL #758 AND THE CITY OF DUBUQUE, IOWA The parties hereby agree to amend Article XXVIII, Hours of Work and Article XXX, Overtime Pay, to provide for a work week that consists of ten hours per day and four days per week. Aritcle XXX, Overtime Pay is amended to provide for 1.5 time the regular rate of pay for hours worked over 40 hours per week and 10 hours per day. Employees will receive eight (8) hours of pay for each casual day and holiday. This Amendment applies only to full-time Public Safety Dispatchers and it will be in effect from October 1, 2006 through September 30,2007. Signed this day of ,2006.
