WHEREAS, the Dubuque Area Chamber of Commerce proudly recognizes the efforts of its
most valuable asset - member volunteers; and
WHEREAS, since January 2013 over 1,000 Chamber members have donated their most
valuable treasure - the gift of time; and
WHEREAS, over 800 volunteers have donated over 3,000 hours, which generated a combined
savings of $85,000 for 40 area non - profits during the Young Professionals Days
of Caring weekend on April 26' 2013; and
WHEREAS, over 100 volunteers helped with the most successful membership recruitment
effort in Chamber's history with 150 new members recruited; and
WHEREAS, those same volunteers have raised $500,000 over the last four years for area non-
profits; and
WHEREAS, over 40 active Chamber Ambassadors volunteer their time on a weekly basis.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, ROY D. BUOL, MAYOR OF THE CITY OF DUBUQUE, ON BEHALF OF
THE CITY COUNCIL, STAFF AND CITIZENS OF DUBUQUE, DO HEREBY PROCLAIM THE 8TH
DAY OF AUGUST, 2013 AS
CHAMBER VOLUNTEER APPRECIATION DAY
IN THE CITY OF DUBUQUE, IOWA.
IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have hereunto set my
hand and caused the Great Seal of the City of
Dubuque to be affixed this 5th day of August,
2013.
