Human Rights Director Kelly Larson has requested that the City Council schedule a
work session for Tuesday, September 3, 2013, at 5:00 p.m. to provide an overview of
the Human Rights Department since its reorganization, the various roles within the
department and how they interact, proposed indicators and the impact the Human
Rights Department is hoping to achieve long term, along with projects they will be
working on to begin making progress towards those indicators.
I concur with the recommendation and respectfully request Mayor and City Council
approval.

INTRODUCTION
The purpose of this memo is to request that the City Council schedule a work session to be held on Tuesday, September 3,
2013, at 5:00 p.m. in Council Chambers. The purpose of this work session will be to provide an overview of the department
since its reorganization, the various roles within the department and how they interact, proposed indicators and the impact
we are hoping to achieve long term, along with projects we will be working on to begin making progress towards those
indicators.
