Public Notice
Mr. Schaefer informed the Commission that right now ECS and Tightrope are working to install the
spare server in the Loras control room. The Loras server needs to be sent in for service, and
because of the service history of that server, he spoke with Mr. Nowack and the current spare server
will become a permanent fixture at Loras. He expects at most two days without programming. Mr.
Schaefer also provided an update on the Dubuque Community Schools access channel now that the
first school year under the new management is coming to an end.
PEG Channel Change
Nowack provided an update on the upcoming move of the PEG channels from digital channel 97 to
digital channel 85. The move will take place on or about June 25 and he has produced a spot
informing the public of the change which is running on all the channels.
Access Equipment & Expenditures
Mr. Schaefer presented a request for funding on behalf of the Dubuque Community School District for
a new computer, editing software, and some portable backgrounds. The existing editing computer at
The Forum is old and no longer sufficient. His producers at The Forum need a way to handle AVI files
and needs the Adobe Creative Suite software to match what the individual schools are using.
Hoverman moved to approve up to $7400 for the equipment. The motion was seconded by RTigges
and approved 5 — 0.
Mediacom Cable Report
No one from Mediacom was available to make a report.

Nowack provided an update on City video production projects and informed the Commission that
Ellen Reiss, a recent Loras graduate, has accepted the intern position and will start as soon as
background checks are completed.
