Environ. Steward. Youth Reps September 13, 2006 Honorable Mayor Roy Buol and City Council Members City Hall 50 W. 13th Street Dubuque IA 52001 Dear Mr. Mayor and Council Members: The Long-Range Planning Advisory Commission forwarded a request to the Environmental Stewardship Advisory Commission to consider having one representative from each of the Dubuque high schools, including Central Alternative School, serve on the ESAC (see attached memo). The Commission discussed this item at their September 5, 2006 meeting with consideration for the existing youth representative currently serving. In order to keep an odd number of Commissioners, the ESAC recommends changing the Ordinance to allow two additional youth representatives to the Commission, but not from any specific high school. The current Ordinance states that the youth representative may be from 16 to 20 years old, which may also enable college-aged students, or students out of high school to serve on the Commission. If you have any questions, please advise. Sincerely, ~~rf) Michael Buelow, Chair Environmental Stewardship Advisory Commission MB/cj cc: Environmental Stewardship Advisory Commission members Mary Rose Corrigan, RN, Public Health Specialist Laura Carstens, Planning Services Manager Charles Winterwood, Chairperson, Long-Range Planning Advisory Commission Dii~~E ~~~ MEMORANDUM August 8, 2006 TO: Michael J.
