WHEREAS, the nonprofit LIFE Foundation coordinates Life Insurance Awareness
Month each September; and
WHEREAS, the Dubuque Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors and the
Iowa Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors join the Life
Foundation and more than 100 of the nation's leading insurance
companies and industry groups in this educational initiative; and
WHEREAS, there are 11 million fewer American households covered by life
insurance compared with six years ago; and
WHEREAS, life insurance can provide loved ones time to grieve, pay off debts,
keep families in their homes and keep a family business in the family.
NOW THEREFORE, 1, ROY D. BUOL, MAYOR OF THE CITY OF DUBUQUE, IOWA, ON
BEHALF OF THE CITY COUNCIL, STAFF AND CITIZENS OF DUBUQUE, DO HEREBY
PROCLAIM THE MONTH OF SEPTEMBER 2073 AS
"LIFE INSURANCE AWARENESS MONTH"
IN THE CITY OF DUBUQUE, IOWA, AND ENCOURAGE CITIZENS TO INCLUDE LIFE
INSURANCE IN THEIR FINANCIAL PLAN BY CONTACTING AN INSURANCE
PROFESSIONAL OR BENEFITS MANAGER.
IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have hereunto set
my hand and caused the Great Seal of the
City of Dubuque to be affixed this 3rd day
of September, 2013.
