MEMORANDUM
October 11, 2006
TO: The Honorable Mayor and City Council Members
FROM: Michael C. Van Milligen, City Manager
SUBJECT: Rates for Ambulance Service
Fire Chief Dan Brown is recommending an amendment to the City of Dubuque Code of
Ordinances that will provide for the City Manager to establish rates for ambulance
service. This change will help make the adjustments to the rates due to fluctuation in
the market of supplies and the Medicare rate reimbursements in a more timely manner.
I concur with the recommendation and respectfully request Mayor and City Council
approval.

MEMORANDUM
September 28, 2006
TO: Michael C. Van Milligen, City Manager
FROM: E. Daniel Brown, Fire Chief [~.e,
SUBJECT: Rates for Ambulance Service
Attached is the copy of the City of Dubuque Ordinance that establishes the rates for Fire
Department ambulance service. Barry Lindahl has prepared an amendment that will
provide for the City Manager to establish the rates. This change will help make the
adjustments to the rates due to fluctuation in the market of supplies and the Medicare
rate reimbursements in a more timely manner.
Currently we are looking at establishing rates for CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway
Pressure) along with a mileage increase as part of a new reimbursement rate from
Medicare.
I respectfully request that this be presented to Mayor and City Council for adoption.
