RE: Mr. and Mrs. Russell Hibben Claim
This is a claim for damages to the claimants' property that
occurred as a result of a sewer backup in the claimants' home after
the severe rain storm of May 16 -17. The claimants have agreed to
participate in the Sanitary Sewer Backup Assistance Program. They
have signed a Release of All Claims and have been sent a form for
a stopvalve rebate in the amount of $500 towards the purchase and
installation of a backflow stopvalve.
As part of the program, the participants are also entitled to
$100 toward cleanup expenses and the purchase of a sewer backup
damage rider on a homeowners' insurance policy.
It is the recommendation of the Legal Department that the $100
payment be authorized and paid as a part of the Sanitary Sewer
Backup Assistance Program.
