RESOLUTION OF INTENT TO DISPOSE OF CITY INTEREST IN THE FORM
OF A QUIT CLAIM DEED FOR THE NORTHWEST ARTERIAL RIGHT -OF -WAY TO
THE IOWA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION
Whereas, the Iowa Department of Transportation has requested the issuance of
a Quit Claim Deed for the right -of -way of the Northwest Arterial Right -Of -Way (IA 32);
and
Whereas, the City of Dubuque has prepared and submitted to the City Council
a Quit Claim Deed showing the Northwest Arterial Right -Of -Way from Dodge Street
to John F. Kennedy Road; and
Whereas, the City Council of the City of Dubuque, Iowa has determined that the
Quit Claim Deed for the Northwest Arterial Right -Of -Way be issued to the Iowa
Department of Transportation.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
DUBUQUE, IOWA:
Section 1. That the City of Dubuque intends to issue a Quit Claim Deed for
the Northwest Arterial Right -of -Way (IA 32) in the City of Dubuque, Iowa, to the Iowa
Department of Transportation.
Section 2. That the City Clerk be and is hereby authorized and directed to
cause a notice of intent to deliver said Quit Claim Deed for the Northwest Arterial
Right -Of -Way to the Iowa Department of Transportation to be published in the manner
as prescribed by law.

Public Works Director Mike Koch is recommending issuance of a quit claim deed for
disposition of the City's interest in the Northwest Arterial right -of -way to the Iowa
Department of Transportation.
I concur with the recommendation and respectfully request Mayor and City Council
approval.
