Director Chuck Gipp, former Bureau Chief Kevin Szcodronski, and the members and staff of Iowa State Parks hosted the 2013 NASPD Annual Conference in Dubuque. As the attached resolution will attest participants from forty - one of the fifty states were treated to a week of stimulating programs, wonderful scenery and gracious hospitality. The entire staff of the Bureau served as gracious ambassadors for your state and the Mississippi corridor was as diverse and historic as advertised. Our time in your great state was both educational and enjoyable and we thank you, the Department of Natural Resources and Bureau of State Parks for hosting the 2013 Conference. Sin - ely, Priscilla Geigi'i sident Cc: Director Chuck Gipp NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF STATE PARK DIRECTORS CERTIFICATE OF APPRECIATION Presented to Iowa State Parks RESOLUTION Commending Iowa State Parks From the Board of Directors and Membership National Association of State Park Directors WHEREAS, the Iowa State Parks Bureau Chief Kevin Szcodronski and the very talented and tireless staff invited the National Association of State Park Directors to the 2013 Annual Conference in the Hawkeye State of Iowa, and WHEREAS, Chief Szcodronski, wisely assigned the creative leadership to the competent team of Tammie Krausman, Sherry Arntzen, and Kathleen Moench to plan a cultural, historic, and memorable conference, with pre and post tours, and WHEREAS, the membership of the National Association of State Park Directors accepted the cordial invitation to Dubuque, Iowa with confidence and anticipation, and WHEREAS, we created the America's State Trees Woodland Walk at Mines of Spain State Park to celebrate America's State Parks and shared stewardship of our natural, cultural, and recreational resources in the state where our movement began, and WHEREAS, the Iowa State Parks staff introduced participants to unsurpassed Iowa hospitality and the warm, inviting culture of the Dubuque area, provided opportunities for reflection and professional development, enjoyment and entertainment and a general good time, and NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the members of the National Association of State Park Directors extend grateful appreciation and heartfelt thanks for the efforts of Chief Szcodronski, the conference planning committee, and the very professional and personable staff of Iowa State Parks for their outstanding cordiality, friendliness, and generosity with the membership and participants in the 2013 Annual Conference of the National Association of State Park Directors!
