In Fiscal Year 2013, the City Council approved $25,000 to fund a new Sustainable
Dubuque Community Grant program. The intentions of the grant program as defined by
the Sustainable Dubuque Collaboration are to demonstrate that anyone can be involved
in the Sustainable Dubuque initiative; to reach out to a diverse set of community
partners, including nonprofits, businesses, neighborhood associations and individuals;
and track measurable impact in the community.
Twenty -two applications have been funded to date. There is a remaining balance of
$11,750 for Fiscal Year 2014.
Thirteen applications were received for the third round of funding, due November 1.
Previously - successful applicants will not be eligible for additional funding for one year
following their award. Many applications addressed multiple sustainability principles
and /or pillars. Application requests totaled $29,164.
