Minutes Electrical Bd 11 20 06 .. MINUTES OF MEETING ELECTRICAL CODE BOARD DATE: Monday, 20 November. 2006 TIME: 4:00 P.M. LOCATION: City Hall, Conference Rm. A CHAIR: Jim Dixon PRESENT: Bob Schmidt, Paul Uhlrich, Jim Dixon ABSENT: Kevin Pfohl, Dan Hamel, Dave Pregler, Elaine Reiss STAFF: Steve Neyens MEDIA: None OTHERS: Don E. Timmermann, Robert Kaesbauer, Dave Baliff Jim Dixon called the meeting to order at 4:05 P.M. Paul Uhlrich moved to dispense with the reading of the minutes of the previous meeting and to accept them as typed with a correction. The correction being that Dave Pregler was absent. Bob Schmidt seconded. Vote was unanimous in favor of motion. The board reviewed the test scores and applications of the following applicants: Don E. Timmermann, Robert Kaesbauer, Dave Baliff Paul Uhlrich moved to accept all applications. Bob Schmidt seconded. Vote was unanimous in favor of motion. The board than interviewed the applicants and results follow: Don E. Timmermann was approved for an electrical contractor license - #231. Robert Kaesbauer was approved for an electrical maintenance license - #125. Dave Baliff was approved for an electrical journeyman license to be issued at a later date. Bob Schmidt moved to approve and issue the above licenses. Paul Uhlrich seconded. Motion passed unanimously. Correspondence report: Staff read letter from Gerald Magee concerning a medical reason that he will miss the last of the 2006 scheduled classes. Paul Uhlrich moved to allow this only if he agrees to take the first available electrical code class in 2007. Bob Schmidt seconded. Vote was unanimous in favor of motion. Staff read letter from Jim Feltes asking if the classroom time in the apprentice class would cover the education requirement. It was discussed by the board and determined that this was approved when the educational requirements were originally set in place. Staff relayed a request from Rodney Kinsella to have his expired journeyman electrical license reinstated. It was pointed out by staff that and Mr. Kinsella had his original license issued in early 1997 and maintained it as an active license until he moved to Alaska in 2003. He will be . in this area for several months each year. His application was reviewed by the board. Bob Schmidt moved to allow this only if he agrees to take the first available electrical code class in 2007. Paul Uhlrich seconded. Vote was unanimous in favor of motion. Staff was directed to notify these persons of the board's decisions. New business: Finding a replacement to fill Dave Pregler's position on the board was discussed with no action being taken at this time. Announcements: Next meeting will be at 4:00 P.M. on Jan. 22, 2007 in Room A. Motion to adjournment made by Uhlrich, Bob Schmidt seconded by, vote was all in favor.
