SUBJECT: Pyatigorsk Park Parking Lot Project, CIP Project #1704
Leisure Services Manager Gil Spence is recommending acceptance of the Pyatigorsk
Park Parking Lot Project, as completed by River City Paving, in the final contract
amount of $46,247.44. This is $5,547.44 over the project bid due to a change order to
provide for coloring the sidewalk, filter fabric and :y. inch base stone to cover the area
under the bridge where grass will not grow, and changing from grass seed to sod.
I concur with the recommendation and respectfully request Mayor and City Council
approval.

INTRODUCTION
The purpose of this memorandum is to recommend that the City Council accept the
Pyatigorsk Park Parking Lot Project.
DISCUSSION
The Pyatigorsk Park Parking Lot Project has been completed by River City Paving in
the final contract amount of $46,247.44. A summary of the project costs is as follows:

RESOLUTION NO. 573-06
ACCEPTING IMPROVEMENT
WHEREAS, the contract for the Pyatigorsk Park Parking Lot Project has been
completed and the City Manager has examined the work and filed his certificate stating that
the same has been completed according to the terms of the contract, plans and
specifications and recommends its acceptance.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF DUBUQUE, IOWA:
1. That the recommendation of the City Manager be approved and that said
improvement be and the same is hereby accepted.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Treasurer be and he is hereby directed
to pay to the contractor from the General Fund in amount equal to the amount of his
contract, less any retained percentage provided for therein.

RESOLUTION NO. 574-06
FINAL ESTIMATE
WHEREAS, the contract for the Pyatigorsk Park Parking Lot Project has been
completed and the Engineer has submitted his final estimate showing the cost thereof
including the cost of estimates, notices and inspection and all miscellaneous costs;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF DUBUQUE, IOWA:
Section 1. That the cost of said improvement is hereby determined to be
$46,247.44, and the said amount shall be paid from the General Fund of the City of
Dubuque, Iowa.
