INTRODUCTION

action regarding the attached change order for the Floodwalllmprovement Projects
currently underway,
BACKGROUND
The Floodwalllmprovement Projects, providing auxiliary power to the Maus Lake and
Hawthorne Street pumping stations, along with numerous infrastructure enhancements
at the Bee Branch pumping station, are currently underway. The total budget
appropriation for the projects is $555,766.00 - $446,420.80 for the construction contract,
$66,400.00 for engineering fees, and, $42,945.20 for contingencies.
DISCUSSION
A memorandum from Street and Sewer Maintenance Supervisor John Klostermann
regarding change order #3 is attached. Also attached is change order #3 in triplicate.
The work associated with the change order is considered essential for the
improvements at the Bee Branch pumping station.
The cost of this change order is $5,463.50, When added to the previous two change
orders, total change order costs to date would equal $14,389.41. This would leave a
contingency fund balance of $28,555.79. The additional cost of the three change orders
equals 3% of the original construction contract for the projects.
ACTION STEP
Your endorsement of the attached change order is recommended and requested.

SUBJECT: Floodwall improvement Projects - Change Order # 3
Introduction
The purpose of this memorandum is to request your approval to change order
# 3 for the Floodwalllmprovement Projects.
Discussion
Change order # 3 is for various types of necessary construction related changes
associated with the improvements being made at the Bee Branch Floodwall
Pumping Station. These changes include pouring a thickened edge along the
sidewalk and installing an additional concrete slab next to the new steps. The
remainder of the change order is for work related to the screen wall. I have
reviewed the change order as submitted with Charles Cate of IIW and we both
feel that the change order is fair and just.
Action Required
I am requesting that you review change order #3 and recommend payment.
