RE: Work Session for 2006 Update of Comprehensive Plan and Future Land Use Map
Dear Mayor and City Council Members:
The Long Range Planning Advisory Commission has been working this year on
updating the City of Dubuque's Comprehensive Plan and Future Land Use Map.
On December 20, 2006, the Commission will hold its final public hearing on the last two
of the Comprehensive Plan's 14 Elements. On January 17, 2007, the Commission will
host an Open House and then hold a public hearing on the recommended updates to all
14 Elements of the Comprehensive Plan and the Future Land Use Map.
The Commission would like to hold a work session with the City Council in early 2007 to
review the recommended updates to the Comprehensive Plan's goals and objectives
and the recommended 2030 Future Land Use Map before the City Council holds its
public hearing. The City Code requires a City Council public hearing prior to adoption of
any amendments to the Comprehensive Plan.
The Commission respectfully requests that the City Council set a date for a work
session on the 2006 Update of the Comprehensive Plan and the Future Land Use Map.
