The City Council has directed the Environmental Stewardship Advisory Commission
(ESAC) and City staff to collect information on Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) as a
vehicle fuel source.
The ESAC discussed this at their December 3, 2013 meeting. The Commission meets
again on January 7, 2014, and February 4, 2014.
The City Council will be entertaining a recommendation at a February 18, 2014 budget
meeting to consider using alternative fuels for new refuse trucks. The final Fiscal Year
2015 budget public hearing is March 5, 2014.
I respectfully request a Work Session on Compressed Natural Gas at 5:00 p.m. on
Monday, February 17, 2014, prior to the regularly scheduled City Council meeting.
