Work Session for Tuesday, January 21, 2014, at 5:15 p.m. to review the final draft of the
design guidelines manual.

SUBJECT: Request for January 21 Work Session on Design Guidelines Update

The Planning Services Department has been working for several months with the City's
Historic Preservation Commission, City staff and community stakeholders to update and
combine our Design Guidelines for Historic Districts and the Downtown into one user -
friendly manual.
The City has received a grant from the National Trust for Historic Preservation to
include expanded sustainability and accessibility guidelines in the Design Guidelines
Update. The grant completion is scheduled for February 2014.
We would like to hold a work session with the City Council on Tuesday, January 21,
2014 at 5:15 PM to review the final draft of the design guidelines manual.
