Tom Blocklinger, Chuck Duggan, Karen Lyness and Evelyn Nadeau
Kim Daykin, Gary Harjehausen and Paul Hoffmann
Staff present: Gil Spence, Pat Prevenas Bob Fritsch and Eileen Trimble
It was moved by Blocklinger, seconded by Lyness, to approve the minutes of the
November 14, 2006, meeting. The motion passed unanimously.
Administrative and golf staff have discussed the possibility of allowing event
winnings to be spent on anything at the golf course, except event fees or season
passes. In the past they did not feel it would be best for the golf course to do so,
but have revisited the idea and feel they may actually draw more people to the
golf course if they can use their winnings in the snack bar, etc.
Commissioner Duggan said he has heard comments from people that would golf
in events at Bunker more if they were not restricted to using winnings in the pro
shop.
11 was moved Qy DUQQan, seconded Qy Lvness, to revise the Qolf course Q.Q!jfy to
allow winninQs from events to be spent on anythinQ at the Qolf course, except
event fees and season passes. The motion passed unanimouslv.
Park Division Manager Bob Fritsch informed commissioners:
· Riley Park project is completed except for sidewalk. · Orange Park project is
completed; minor vandalism to a shade tree there but it will be repaired. · There
are several major functions at Eagle Point Park in September so we will be doing
some general fix-up projects such as new gate, landscaping at the Riverfront,
new trash receptacles throughout the park, et cetera. . Division Manager met
with all full time park staff after the seasonal workers were finished for the
season so they could start discussing ways to change some of the routines next
season to make the work force more efficient. · Mr. Fritsch has been asked to
serve on the task force for Green Communities.
Recreation Division Manager Pat Prevenas informed commissioners:
· Second dance of the season in the Therapeutic Activity was held Friday at
Roosevelt Middle School, with 74 participants (low attendance). · Open gym on
weekends at Prescott has not had the same level of participation as it did at St.
Pat's but we are still trying to make residents in the area aware that it's available
there. · Harris is in the process of picking up golf carts over the winter to
prepare them for next year. So far we have a $1,200 bill for repairs to roofs on
the carts. We are trying to come up with a way to get more information from cart

renters so we can recover the expense. . One of the features of the POS
system in the pro shop and snack bar is the plastic gift cards. We have
purchased some of these for the 2007 season to use for tournament prizes and
when someone wants to purchases a gift. The amount of credit would be
programmed to an individual's card and when they use it, the amount would be
deducted from total. We may go to something similar for season pass holders
too.

Pet Park: Manager Spence said he continues to work with neighbors and has
received a couple suggestions from them, one of which is down in the area of
the old FDL Foods. He will continue to check other possibilities, but feels we
definitely have to have a place to move the park to, we cannot just close it.
Budget hearing: The department's hearing with the City Council is February
26th. Commissioners should let Mr. Spence know if they want to attend the
dinner so he can let the manager's office know.
