Transit Advisory Board_Letter of Support for Jule Service ChangesMayor Roy Buol and City Council 50 W 17th Street Dubuque, IA 52001 Dear Mayor Buol and City Council Members, On behalf of the Jule Transit Advisory Board, we fully support The Jule's suggested changes to the routes that will be implemented on January 6, 2014. A long time goal of the Jule Transit Advisory Board is to provide efficient, time - saving and cost effective routes that will encourage all citizens of Dubuque to utilize the Jule. We feel the following changes which include new service to Key West and Terrace Heights area, the addition of the Non -Stop Express Service and reduced ride time meets the goals we set forth. • New service will begin January 6, 2014 • Non -stop Express Bus service will be added • Jackson Street will now have 30 minute service rather than hourly service • The medical route will provide 30 minutes service rather than hourly service • New service will be offered to Terrace Heights • New service will be added to the Key West area • Service will be added to the Freemont /Wartburg area • Service time for the Linwood route will be reduced • Service will be added for the YMCA rather than on- demand service • Currently, the last bus from Iowa Street going west leaves at 4:45 pm, but due to the changes in the routes the last bus will leave Iowa Street and head west at 6:15 pm • At JFK Circle, one bus will leave at 6:00 pm and go down NW Arterial and leave off workers from that area. The second bus will leave at 6:30 pm and will go down through town to leave riders off in the downtown area. • Jule 101 classes will be held throughout the City to help citizens understand the changes • All changes and information regarding the routes has been placed on the City website as of December 6, 2013. We appreciate your continuing support in helping us provide a transit system that the City of Dubuque can be proud of.
