BACKGROUND Platinum Hospitality was hired as the private management company for the Grand River Center in 2003. In 2013, a new management contract was approved. Mitzi Yordy, General Manager, would like to present activities of 2013, as well as plans for the future to the Council. The Grand River Center has become an integral part of the community since opening. The Conference and Education Center has been very successful in hosting local events and activities, as well as bringing conventions to our community and building Dubuque's tourism industry. Marketing Initiatives Maintaining the Grand River Center domain website with attractive imagery and pricing packages along with interactive hotlinks with area and regional attractions is key to penetrating this critical media. The Grand River Center participates in the internet meetings sites such as; Starcite and CVent for exposure to thousands of online professional planners.
