Dear Mayor Buol:
This notice is being given to you parsuant to the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification
Act of 1988, which requires Employers to give official notice to certain governmental units or
officials of a pending plant closure or layoffs resulting in covered employment loss. As part of
the sale of assets of WCB Hotels, Inc. (d/b/a Midway Hotel, Hoffman House Restaurant and
3100 Club) located at 3100 Dodge Street in Dubuque, Iowa, WCB Hotels, Inc. is permanently
terminating all positions and all jobs effective at the close of business on March 4, 2007. It is
estimated that approximately 103 employees (47 full-time, 56 part-time) will be affected. A list
of the affected positions is attached hereto. Affected employees do not have any bumping rights,
and none of the affected employees are represented by a union.
