7. Narrative Description:
This two-story concrete block garage dates to 1963. This property appears to be confused with the
garage to the south. One dates to 1958, the other to 1963. This one is likely the later of the two. The
plan appears to measure 37 feet by 51 feet and the building was first built with a flat roof. Curiously
the gable roof has been removed in just the past year. The ancient elongated garage to the north of
this building does not appear on Sanborn Maps until 1964, so it was moved to the site, and possibly
displaced by the building of this garage? If so the frame garage was elongated at that time.

8. Narrative Statement of Significance:
Mander's Garage needs to be searched to separate the two buildings.
There was a single-story frame cottage on this site as of 1891 and it fronted south and had a full-length
side porch. As of 1920 Levi and Bessie Bennett lived here. He was a car maker for A. Y. McDonald.
The cottage was gone by 1934.
