Narrative Description: This two-story frame gable front house has a stone foundation, and symmetrical fenestration. The brick chimney is centered on the roofridge and plan. The rectangular core measures 16 feet in width and is 42 feet long. The full-width front porch measures 16 feet in width and 6 feet in depth. A rear enclosed porch (northeast corner) is aligned with the east sidewall and measures 4 feet in width and 6 feet in depth. The first floor has hardwood floors. There was 14 feet by 15 feet garage and an attached shed (three feet by nine feet), both of which have been removed (assessor's records). It was not included in the proposed Rhomberg and Kniest historic district. The house fronts south onto Lincoln Avenue and occupies a rather small parcel that is bordered on the east by the Audubon public school parcel. This house is pictured in the 1889 bird's eye view and predates any of the Kniest Street houses to the immediate west. As of 1891 the house address was 285 Division Street. By 1909 it was 533 East 21st Street. It was numbered 509 East 21st Street and the street was renamed Lincoln only c.1960.
