Narrative Description: This is a two-story brick side gable residential plan (core plan 34x44 with matching rear side porches 6x16 recessed into rectangular plan, 1,336 square feet per level). There is a centered brick single story rear addition (12x24, 288 square feet). The foundation is of stone. There are 14 rooms and five bedrooms in the plan. The brickwork is a veneer, possibly indicating hollow wall construction. The windows are 2/2. The fenestration is largely symmetrical and two very ornate end chimneys survive. Window arches are formed from plain semi-circular stone lintels with plain stone sills. Straight plain stone lintels are also used on the east sidewall ground level windows. A Classical era porch, possibly dating to pre-World War I, survives with a hip roof. There were two garages (14 feet by 26 feet, 10 feet by 18 feet) as of the early 1950s. An attached shed measured four by eight feet. Building Permit/Alteration Record, 511 Rhomberg Avenue Date Owner Contractor Description/value April 30, 1940 C.
