Narrative Description: This is a two-story side gable frame residential plan (37 feet by 24 feet, 1,434 total square feet per level) with a rear addition (13 feet by 42 feet). The foundation is of stone. The house has vinyl siding. The building was divided into four apartments prior to a severe fire which damaged the rear of the building in 1997. It was converted to three units two years later. There are 14 rooms (seven bedrooms). The rear wing had four separate rear porch components, none of which survive. The present rear wing is an amalgam of additions build on either side of a central two-story gable roof rear wing, likely original to the house. Sanborn maps indicate a high number of outbuildings that were clustered alongside the alley, between 1891 and 1950. By 1964, just one garage, an east-end remnant of the larger complex, survived. There are no outbuildings at present. Fenestration is symmetrical, with broadly-spaced window openings on the facade. Each of two bays has two windows each, aligned vertically with the two entrances, broadly centered but separated. There is a hip roof porch with replacement timber posts (16 feet wide by six feet deep) and a concrete porch deck and entry steps for each unit. Windows on the facades have rounded wood lintels and side windows have flat wood lintels. Fenestration on the side walls is also symmetrical. Brick chimneys are located on each gable end.
