7. Narrative Description:
This is a dimunitive L-plan brick cottage (26.6x28 with 14'-wide front wing, 14.6 ' wide west
wing, 573 square feet, with 9x29.6 rear brick addition). There is a quarter-basement. The plan
contains seven rooms (four bedrooms). The attic area is used for drying laundry although the
Assessor indicates three bedrooms on that level.

8. Narrative Statement of Significance:
The Assessor dates this building to +1- 1880. This building was extant as of 1891 (111
Rhomberg). By 1909 the rear section linked via an open porch to the outbuilding at 501 Rhomberg
and there appears to have been a functional linkage with that property. By 1936 501 Rhomberg was
extended northward to the alley but the west end projection marks the former link.
Frank F. Bucholz, who worked at Morrison Bros., was here as of 1921.
