INTRODUCTION
The enclosed resolution provides for the acceptance of the construction contract for the
Catfish Station Electrical Repairs FEMA and payment for the completed project.
BACKGROUND
Due to flooding in July of 2011 the Catfish Creek Pumping Station suffered serious
damage to its electrical components. Short and medium term repairs were made to
bring the station back into operation and the station has been operating successfully
since that time. The purpose of this project was to complete the long term repairs to the
system as agreed to by FEMA.
The engineer's estimate for the project was for $132,482.70. The City Council approved
the awarding of the Catfish Station Electrical Repairs FEMA to A &G Electric of Dubuque
with the low bid of $71,950.
DISCUSSION
The Catfish Station Electrical Repairs project has been completed by A &G Electric of
Dubuque Iowa and is operating as designed. The payment of $71,950 is requested to
close out the project.
RECOMMENDATION
It is my recommendation that the project be accepted by the City Council and a final
payment of $71,950 be made to A &G Electric. This amount is within the original contract
costs.
ACTION REQUESTED
The City Council is requested to adopt the attached resolution accepting the Catfish
Station Electrical Repairs FEMA project and authorize final payment of $71,950 to A &G
Electric.
