Parking Violation Fine In- creases: City Manager recommending that fine amounts for certain park- ing violations (excluding expired parking meter vio- lations) be increased from the current $7 initial fee and 30-day increase to $12 to the proposed struc- ture of an initial fine of $15 and an increase to $20 if not paid within 30 calendar ~ days, upon motion re- ceived and filed. Council discussed the safety issues related to the various parking violations and whether or not raising the fines would prove to be a deterrent. The mo- tion was amended to ap- prove the City Manager's recommendations except that the fine for a snow route violation would be in- creased to thirty dollars $30.00 if paid within (30) calendar days of the date of the violation and thirty- five dollars ($35.00) if not paid within thirty days.
