ITC Midwest_Projects Review PresentationITC Midwest was created in 2007 when the company bought the transmission assets of All ant
Energy's Interstate Power & Light. The company's sole focus is building, operating and
maintaining the electric transmission system that serves this region.
ITC Midwest maintains a regional operating facility on Chavenelle Road in Dubuque.
We are pleased to be an active member of the Dubuque community, supporting organizations from
the Dubuque Arboretum and Dubuque Regional Humane Society to the Greater Dubuque
Development Corporation and the Dubuque Area Chamber of Commerce.
Below is a brief summary of work in the Dubuque area that ITC has recently completed and
projects that are in process or are being planned:

81 miles of new 345kV line connecting Salem
and Hazleton Substations. Benefits all of
Northeast Iowa.

Adding equipment to add redundancy and
capacity to substation.

Addresses some long - standing system
protection and reliability issues for Dubuque
metro area.

Retirement Upgrades
Upgrade 20 miles between Lore and Turkey
River substations. Build Hickory Creek
Substation in county, allows improved load
flows in and out of Dubuque.

Salem Substation

improving system protection and allowing for
retirement of 8th Street Generating Station.

Multi -Value Project #5
MISO- approved project connecting a substation
in the Dubuque area to a substation near
Madison, WI. Will add capacity and improve
reliability for Northeast Iowa.
Estimated 2018
ITC's total expenditure for these projects represents nearly $375 million in capital investment, including
approximately $160 million invested just for the Salem- Hazleton project.
