INTRODUCTION
The purpose of this memo is to submit to you a copy of the proposed ordinance
changes and a recommendation that ordinance changes anticipated for FY2015 take
effect on July 1, 2014
DISCUSSION
In our budget request for FY2015 we are requesting a 5% sewer rate increase. The
effect of the changes, based on a 5% increase, is on the attached page. The ordinance
changes would revise Title 13, Sections 13 -2C -3(B) and 13 -2C -3(C)(7) of the Code of
Ordnances increasing basic wastewater charges for residential, commercial and minor
industrial users from $3.99 to $4.19 per ccf, rate per each gallon from $0.00533 to
$0.0056
RECOMMENDATION
I recommend that you approve the proposed ordinance changes and submit them to the
City Council for approval at their March 5, 2014 budget hearing.

Section 1. Section 13 -2C -3(B) of the City of Dubuque Code of Ordinances is
amended to read as follows:
Section 13 -2C -3(B) Schedule of Rates:
Rates per each one hundred (100) cubic feet ...$ 4.19
Rate per each gallon $ .0056
Section 2. Section 13 -2C -3(C) (7) of the City of Dubuque. Code of Ordinances is
amended to read as follows:
Where the quantity of water consumed is such that the minimum of service is
charged, the minimum sewer service charge; according to the size of the meter,
shall be as follows:
