CITY COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS
SPECIAL SESSION

Council met in special session at 6:30 p.m. on February 20, 2014 in the Historic
Federal Building.
Present: Mayor Buol, Council Members Braig (joined at 6:44 p.m.), Connors, Jones,
Lynch, Resnick, Sutton; City Manager Michael Van Milligen
Mayor Buol read the call and stated this is a special session of the City Council called
for the purpose of discussing various City departmental Fiscal Year 2015 budgets.
FISCAL YEAR 2015 DEPARTMENTAL BUDGET REVIEW
Fiscal Year 2015 City departmental budgets were presented by staff from the
following departments:
Purchase of Services: Mayor Buol called for public input on each agency/program
that was identified for recommended funding. Sue Riedel of Bell Tower Productions,
and Chris Olson of Four Mounds Foundation described their respective programs
and spoke in support of funding.
Leisure Services: Marie Ware, Leisure Services Manager provided an overview of
the department’s staffing and projects.
Park Division: Steve Fiesal, Park Division Manager
Recreation Division: Dan Kroger, Recreation Division Manager
Multicultural Family Center: Abeni El-Amin, Director

AmeriCorps Partners in Learning: Deb Bell, Director
o
Five Flags Center: Marie Ware, Leisure Services Manager
Conference Center (Grand River Center): Marie Ware, Leisure Services
Manager
City Council had discussion with staff following each presentation.
There being no further business, upon motion the City Council adjourned at 7:59 p.m.
