January 18, 2007
On January 18th, 2007, the members of the Dubuque City Conference Board met in the
Dubuque County Board of Supervisor's Chambers, Dubuque County Courthouse,
Dubuque, Iowa. The purpose of the meeting was to provide the Conference Board
negotiator with guidelines in negotiating the collective bargaining agreement with union
employees.
The meeting was called to order at 4:00 p.m. by Chairperson Roy Buol.
Roll call was taken. Those present were:
City Council School Board Board of Supervisors
Roy Buol David Patton Wayne Demmer
Joyce Connors Eric Manternach
Ann Michalski (4:14)
Also present were John Ganshirt, negotiator for the City Conference Board and Dubuque
City Assessor, Richard Engelken.
Mr. Ganshirt presented the union requests to the Conference Board. The initial request
was a 6% increase in wages and Fair Share language being added to the contract. There
was much discussion regarding the county employees being locked into a 3% increase
this year and also plans with the city and school employees.
The Conference Board suggested a course of action for Mr. Ganshirt.
Mr. Demmer made a motion to adjourn. Ms. Michalski seconded the motion. All
members voted "Aye." Motion carried. The meeting was adjourned at 4:30 p.m.
