We had no cars on the street in front of our home the entire day and yet there had been no effort made by any of the city's equipment to "Gear to the curb". As far as I could determine there was at best one pass made up through the center of the street. I have lived here now 12 years and it has been the same most of the time. I remain amazed at the fact that it seems that citywide there is little effort made to push the snow back to the curb. Common sense would indicate that all that would be necessary would be to institute an "odd-even" parking program for the winter months, facilitating the snow removal efforts. We have lived in other parts of the country where there was actually even more snow during the winter and have seen much but better snow removal performance. i continue to be disappointed by the efforts of the city crew. It is hard for me to believe that the majority of the citizens of our city wouldn't be in favor of a program that would improve the efficiency of the snow removal process and that many would welcome the idea of "odd-even" parking. Has this obvious solution to a troublesome situation ever even been tried?? To my knowledge the answer is no, at feast not in the 12 years we have lived here. Meanwhile there are days when there is little snow activity at all and the trucks ply the streets continuously when they could be saving their efforts for the bigger snow events.
