Minutes Civil Service Dec 12 01CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION Date: Wednesday, December 12, 2001 Time: 3:30 p.m. Place of Meeting: City Hall - Conference Room A Present: Chairperson Merle Duehr, Commissioner Lores Kluesner, Commissioner Dick Wertzberger, Randy Peck, Tim Horsfield, Dave Baker, John Rosenthal, Terry Shaffer = Approve Minutes of December 11, 2001 Commissioner Wertzberger moved to approve the minutes of December 11, 2001. Seconded by Kluesner, passed unanimously. Request to Schedule Entrance Examination for the Position of Aquatics and Therapeutic Recreation Supervisor Commissioner Wertzberger moved to conduct an entrance exam for the position of Aquatics and Therapeutic Recreation Supervisor, that the test be a "take home= examination, and that the time limit for the eligibility list be established at two years. It was further moved that the application request deadline be 5:00 p.m. on January 4, 2002 with the examination return date established as 12:00 midnight, January 23, 2002. Seconded by Kluesner, passed unanimously. Request to Schedule Promotional Examination for the Position of Sanitation Driver Commissioner Kluesner moved to conduct a promotional exam for the position of Sanitation Driver that the test be open to current City employees and the eligibility list be established at two years. Seconded by Wertzberger, passed unanimous y. Commissioner Wertzberger then moved that the request for application deadline be established as 5:00 p.m. on January 4, 2002 and that the test be conducted at 6:30 p.m. on January 22, 2002. Seconded by Werlzberger, passed unanimously. There Notice of Appeal of Terry Shaffer Commissioner Wertzberger moved to receive and file the vadous communications. Seconded by Kluesner passed unanimously. Chairperson Duehr asked Dave Baker if he had received the information requested in his November 30, 2001 letter to C ty Manager Michael Van Milligen. Mr. Baker stated he had not and Chairperson Duehr requested that Personnel Manager Peck comply with that request as soon as possible and to also supply the information to the Commission members. Mr. Peck replied that the information had been supplied verbally to the Union. After further discussion, Kluesner moved to set a hearing on the appeal for Thursday, January 3, 2002 at 3:00 p.m. Seconded by Wertzberger and passed unanimously. being no further business, upon motion the meeting adjourned at 3:48 p.m. Approved at Meeting of Chairperson
