Proclamation Boys Girls Club WeekPROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, the mission of the Boys and Girls Club of America is to inspire
and enable all young people, especially those from disadvantaged
circumstances, to realize their full potential as healthy,
productive, responsible and caring citizens; and
WHEREAS, Boys and Girls Club enhances youth development by inspiring a
sense of competence, usefulness, belonging and empowerment;
and
WHEREAS, this year, the Boys and Girls Club celebrates 107 years of
providing youth with a positive environment, opportunities and
fun.
NOW THEREFORE, I, ROY D. BUOL, MAYOR OF THE CITY OF DUBUQUE, IOWA, ON
BEHALF OF THE CITY COUNCIL, STAFF AND CITIZENS OF DUBUQUE, CONGRATULATE
THE BOYS AND GIRLS CLUB OF GREATER DUBUQUE ON 107 YEARS OF SERVICE TO
AREA YOUTH AND HEREBY PROCLAIM THE WEEK OF MARCH 25-31, 2007, AS
"BOYS AND GIRLS CLUB WEEK"
IN THE CITY OF DUBUQUE, IOWA, AND EXTEND OUR VERY BEST WISHES ON THIS
SPECIAL OCCASION.
