1. Approve Minutes of November 17, 2006
Motion by Kluesner to approve the minutes of November 17, 2006. Seconded by
Duehr, passed unanimously.
2. Request to Schedule Entrance Examination for Position of Laboratory Technician
Motion by Kluesner to receive and file the communication from Staff requesting to
schedule an entrance examination for the position of Laboratory Technician, that the
examination be a "take home" test, that the exam be open to all current City employees
and the general public and that the list be good for two years. It was further moved that
the application request deadline and test return date be established by the Personnel
Manager, with the Commission being kept informed of those dates. Seconded by
Duehr. Motion carried 2-0.
3. Request to Schedule Entrance Examination for Position of Sanitation Driver
Motion by Kluesner to receive and file the communication from Staff requesting to
schedule an entrance examination for the position of Sanitation Driver, that the
examination request deadline be 5:00 P.M., January 26, 2007 and the test be
administered on Thursday, February 8, 2007 at 6:30 P. M. at a place to be determined
(Hoffmann Auditorium -Loras College), and that the certified list be good for two years.
Seconded by Duehr. Motion carried 2-0.
4. Establish Passing Point and Certify List for Position of Equipment Mechanic
Motion by Kluesner to receive and fiile the communication and to establish the passing
point for the position of Equipment Mechanic at 60 and above correct answers.
Seconded by Duehr, passed unanimously. Kluesner moved to certify the list as read.
Seconded by Duehr, passed unanimously.
5. Discussion of Tentative Date for Police Entry Examination
Chief Wadding stated that the Police Department has added ten Police Officers in the
last three months and that the current list is almost exhausted. He requested that the
written examination and agility test for Police Officer be scheduled for April 21 or April
28, 2007, with the latter date being preferred. The application deadline would be
approximately twenty days prior to the exam date.
Kluesner moved that the written entrance examination for the position of Police Officer
be set for Saturday, April 28, 2007 at a place to be determined and that the physical
agility test be scheduled for that date also. Seconded by Duehr, passed unanimously.
Chairperson Duehr questioned where the City was at with regard to the Civil Service test for
Medical Officer. Personnel Manager Peck replied that a recommendation regarding this
position would be considered as part of the Fiscal Year 2008 budget and that he would prefer
not to schedule the test until after the budget had been considered and adopted.
There being no further business, upon motion the meeting adjourned at 11:25 a. m.
