SUBJECT: Purchase of Replacement Dump Truck, #4404
Leisure Services Manager Gil Spence is recommending the purchase of a replacement
one-ton dump truck from the low bidder, Mike Finnin Ford, in the amount of $25,497.50.
The $3,497.50 budget shortfall will come from savings from the purchase of mowing
equipment.
I concur with the recommendation and respectfully request Mayor and City Council
approval.

SUBJECT: Purchase of Replacement Dump Truck, #4404
INTRODUCTION
The purpose of this memorandum is to request City Council approval of a replacement
one-ton dump truck, #4404.
DISCUSSION
Bids were received for the replacement of truck #4404, aone-ton dump truck. A
summary of the bids received is as follows:
Bid Amount
Mike Finnin Ford $ 25,497.50
Louisburg Garage $ 25,862.50
Bird Chevrolet $ 26,750.00
The FY 2007 operating budget contains $22,000 for the replacement of this truck. The
cost overrun will be covered with savings from mowing equipment.
RECOMMENDATION
I recommend that the low bid of $25,497.50 from Mike Finnin Ford be accepted.
ACTION STEP
The action requested is that the City Council approve the attached resolution approving
the purchase of the dump truck from Mike Finnin Ford in the amount of $25,497.50.

RESOLUTION APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF A DUMP TRUCK TO REPLACE #4404
Whereas, the City Manager recommends the purchase of a dump truck from Mike
Finnin Ford, for a purchase price of $25,497.50, to replace #4404,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
DUBUQUE, IOWA:
Section 1. The purchase of a dump truck from Mike Finnin Ford for a purchase
price of $25,497.50 is hereby approved.
Passed, approved and adopted this 5th day of March 2007.
