Dear Mr. Brown:
We would like to express our gratitude to the Dubuque Fire Department and the two
Firefighters who responded so promptly and efficiently when we called 911to report
the activation of our carbon monoxide detector (2/9/07). They determined that the
monoxide was at a dangerous level, isolated the cause to a malfunction of the furn-
ace, aired out the whole house assuring that it was safe for us to re-enter. They re-
mained to be sure that the furnace would be replaced and we would be safely warm.
They also checked us for any physical symptoms we might have experienced.
Dubuque is very fortunate to have such an efficient Fire Department.
And this is a reminder that all of us should have fire and monoxide detectors and to
check that batteries are in working order.
